// DATA CENTRE / HYPERCONVERGED

Your clients are leaving VMware. We get them onto Nutanix.

The Broadcom renewal landed and clients are moving. We map the workloads, run the VMware-to-Nutanix migration with Nutanix Move, and stand up the full Nutanix Cloud Platform. The migration ships under your brand, executed by NCP-certified engineers.

Scope a Nutanix migration
// THE VMWARE MIGRATION WAVE

The trigger is specific, and the migration is not optional.

Broadcom restructured VMware licensing into bundled subscriptions and renewal quotes climbed to three to ten times the prior cost. Toshiba, a sixteen-year VMware customer, was quoted ten times its previous spend and moved to Nutanix. Most IT leaders are now evaluating alternatives, but evaluating is not migrating. Teams that ran VMware for a decade have no AHV expertise and no migration playbook, and the channel partners they ask have the same gap. Cisco ending HyperFlex software maintenance adds a second clock. The demand is there; the certified engineers to execute it are the bottleneck.

// CAPABILITIES

What we deliver.

01

Pre-Migration Assessment

Every VM, network dependency and custom VMware feature mapped with Nutanix Move before anything moves. AHV compatibility, DRS and vSAN policy edge cases flagged up front, ranked into a phased plan.

02

VMware-to-Nutanix Migration

Phased by workload criticality: non-critical first, production last, after validation. Nutanix Move handles live ESXi-to-AHV conversion with minimal downtime; Veeam can rehydrate ESXi backups straight to AHV.

03

Full Nutanix Cloud Platform

Foundation through AOS cluster build, AHV hypervisor and storage policies, then NCM and Prism Central for multi-cluster visibility, X-Play automation and self-service. The whole stack: NCI, NCP, NCM, NUS, AHV.

04

Cisco HyperFlex Migration

Cisco ended HyperFlex software maintenance and points customers at Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with Nutanix. We run that vendor-endorsed path on your existing qualified M6 hardware: reuse assessment, data migration, cutover.

05

AI-Ready Unified Storage

Nutanix Unified Storage on NVMe, sized for AI and ML inference and RAG pipelines. The same platform serves your file, block and object workloads without a separate storage tier to operate.

06

Flow Microsegmentation & Data Lens

Nutanix Flow Network Security for east-west microsegmentation, and Nutanix Data Lens for ransomware anomaly detection. Compliance and threat containment built into the platform, not bolted on.

// FAQ

Nutanix migration, answered straight.

01 How long does a VMware to Nutanix migration take?

A typical migration runs 8 to 16 weeks, set by VM count, workload complexity and compliance scope. The first 2 to 3 weeks are pure assessment: workload mapping, AHV compatibility, dependency analysis. The rest is phased migration with Nutanix Move, non-critical workloads first and production last, with minimal downtime on each cutover.

02 What is the difference between Nutanix NCI and NCP?

NCI is the HCI compute and storage foundation. NCP is the full platform: NCI plus NCM and Prism Central for multi-cluster management, automation, cost governance and self-service provisioning. Most production deployments need NCP for the Day 2 operations, not just the cluster underneath it.

03 Can we run Nutanix on existing Cisco UCS hardware?

Yes. Nutanix runs on Cisco UCS X-Series and B-Series as a validated platform, and Cisco now promotes Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with Nutanix as the official HyperFlex replacement. We configure the UCS chassis, X-Fabric modules and Intersight service profiles for AHV, including sub-four-hour bare-metal server rebuild.

04 What happens to Cisco HyperFlex after end of sale?

Cisco announced end-of-sale with software maintenance ending September 2025, and points customers at Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with Nutanix on qualified HyperFlex M6 hardware. We run that as a packaged service: hardware reuse assessment, Nutanix deployment and data migration, aligned to Cisco's published migration paper.

05 Is Nutanix AHV compatible with all our VMware VMs?

Nutanix Move handles ESXi-to-AHV conversion with automated VM conversion, network mapping and real-time sync, and most standard VMs migrate cleanly. The assessment flags VMs leaning on VMware-specific features (DRS, vSAN policies, custom vSphere plugins) that need special handling. Veeam's joint solution also rehydrates ESXi backups directly to AHV.

06 How does the cost compare to staying on VMware?

IDC puts Nutanix HCI at an average 356% ROI with a 12-month break-even. With Broadcom renewals landing at three to ten times the prior cost, most organisations clear break-even inside the first renewal cycle. Our advisory produces a TCO model against the client's specific VMware quote, so the numbers are theirs, not a generic estimate.
